Recessional

The recessional is the music played at the end of the service to accompany the wedding party back down the aisle. It is usually upbeat and happy. This is another spot where a signal has to be worked out with the musicians so that they don't start before you are ready.

Below are some suggestions for Recessional music. Of course, you are free to specify any song you wish, even if it is not on our list.

Music Suggestions for the Recessional:

Title - Composer Listen
Hallelujah Chorus, The Messiah - Handel
Ode to Joy Finale from Ninth Symphony - Beethoven
Pomp and Circumstance, March No. 4 - Elgar
Rondeau (Masterpiece Theatre theme) - Mouret
Trumpet Tune in D - Purcell
Wedding March from a Midsummer Night's dream - Mendelssohn
